A simple intelligent idea: expose the slats of the bed that are usually hidden away. Function becomes a primary element of the design.

Tadao reinterprets the wooden bed with a minimalist, Eastern-inspired design. The supporting slats hold up the mattress and extend upward to form the headboard, allowing the structure itself to define the bed’s character. The variety of wood types and finishes allows it to blend seamlessly with the materials and colors of the bedroom. The frame is collapsible, and wheels on the side of the headboard make it easy to move.

In a bright room with large windows and lush plantings, the Tadao bed dominates the scene with its natural iroko wood slatted frame. The sloping headboard accommodates two understated pillows, and one blue side pillow, which combined with a blue plaid spread lends chromatic rhythm. Two Foglio bedside tables in black metal T012 and a light-colored ottoman complete a sober and harmonious setting.

Detail of the headboard of the Tadao bed, composed of three iroko wood slats with marked grain, joined by thin blue bands. The minimalist design dialogues with the Foglio bedside table in black metal T012 with curved shapes. Natural light enhances the warm shades of the wood and the softness of the sand-colored comforter cover.

Detail of the Tadao bed base, composed of wide natural iroko slats. Blue bands connecting the wooden elements add graphic rhythm and a contemporary touch. The neutral-colored comforter cover falls precisely over the surface, while the blue plaid introduces a note of freshness to the woven rug.

The Tadao bed, shown here in a bright room with a window to the green, expresses functionality and elegance. The sloping headboard in N081 coffee-stained oak hints at an essential aesthetic. The True 6800 comforter cover and Micro 6370 sheets in light blue accentuate the freshness and modernity of the composition. In the background, a glass window overlooks the green garden.

Close-up detail of the Tadao double bed top in N081 coffee-stained oak: solid wood slats, joined by a sturdy blue band, create a visually light but solid structure. The marked grain of the wood stands out under natural light, emphasizing the authenticity of the material and the excellence of the craftsmanship.

In this side shot, the Tadao bed in N081 coffee-stained oak blends perfectly into a room with warm, natural tones. The horizontal slatted design creates visual consistency. The True 6800 comforter cover and Micro 6370 sheets lend color harmony to the room.

A stroke of genius

Tadao emerged from Vico Magistretti’s creative mind. The wooden slats of the bedbase define the esthetics of this creation. His joyous intuition captured something beautiful from something simple.

Front view of the Tadao double bed with N081 coffee-stained oak frame. The sleek design of the horizontal slats conveys visual lightness. Coordinating True 6800 and Micro 6370 linens in light blue tones complete a minimalist, uncluttered scene where each element contributes to a sense of balance, functionality and comfort.

In an essential room with sand tones, the Tadao bed in a dark river walnut finish, accompanied by an ivory-colored True 6224 comforter cover with beige edging, stands out in the middle of the room. Next to it, the nightstand Juta, also in dark river walnut, houses a sculptural lamp and other miscellaneous objects. A large textural canvas hanging on the wall completes the composition.

Tadao can be moved easily thanks to the wheels on the side of the headboard. This bed can be disassembled and is eco-compatible. In brief, it is right up-to-date.
